Who can help me troubleshoot issues with my Sprout?
When you call or email Sprout customer service you can expect quick and knowledgable help. What parts does Sprout come with (in the box)?
Sprout unit including cartridge, plain tailpiece, dishwasher tailpiece, tailpiece gasket, sink stopper, owner's manual and sink stickers.
What if I am missing a piece/part from my new Sprout?

Installation
Can I install my Sprout myself?
Yes. Sprout was designed for easy and quick installation. Some handyman skills are required, but if you can install a new sink or garbage disposal, you can install Sprout.

What types of sinks can I install Sprout into?
Sprout can be installed into a variety of kitchen sinks as long as they have a standard 3.5" drain hole. You may email support@sproutkitchen.com or call (913) 951-3333 between 8 am - 5 pm CST to speak with a live support representative.
Operation
How often should I empty my Sprout filter?
The cartridge should be emptied anytime solids have collected in the basket.
How do I empty my Sprout filter?
- Remove the entire cartridge (basket, flow diverter and cartridge base) from the sink basin using the grab tab.
- Empty all waste (grease and food solids) into a waste bin by turning the cartridge upside down.
- Shake mildly to release the food solids and grease captured.
- If necessary, wipe away any excess grease or water on the outside of the cartridge.
- Reinsert the cartridge into the sink basin.
Will my sink operate when the Sprout filter is removed?
Yes. Your sink will continue to drain while your Sprout cartridge is removed, however, it is strongly recommended that dishes with grease and food solids are not rinsed/washed without the Sprout cartridge installed as grease and food solids will go down the drain and can result in drain clogs.
Can I pour all my kitchen grease into my Sprout?
No. Excess grease and food waste from cooking should be responsibly disposed of outside of your sink. Sprout will capture the residual grease and food waste and should be considered a second line of defense.
Can I fill my sink to wash dishes with my Sprout?
Yes. Each Sprout comes with a rubber sink stopper to cover the drain allowing the sink to be filled with water.
What if there are more solids in my sink than my Sprout basket can handle?
Before removing and emptying the Sprout cartridge, it will be necessary to remove the excess solids in the sink.
What if solids are delivered to the sink drain when my Sprout basket is out for cleaning?
The Sprout basin offers drain protection from solids in the form of a ‘grate’ at the bottom of the basin even when the basket has been removed. If solids collect at the bottom of the basin, these solids should be removed before re-installing the basket.
Care & Maintenance
How often should I clean/sanitize my Sprout filter?
- The cartridge should be cleaned as needed. This can be accomplished by rinsing with warm water after it has been emptied, prior to reinserting into the sink basin.
- For a deep cleaning, disassemble the cartridge (basket, flow diverter and cartridge base) and wash in the dishwasher. Store components safely in the upper tray or basket where they will be secure during the washing process.
Note: If performing a deep cleaning, it is recommended to do so overnight when the sink will not be in use. You may also purchase a second cartridge to serve while the “primary” cartridge is being cleaned.
How do I disassemble and reassemble the Sprout filter?
- Remove the entire filter (basket, flow diverter and filter base) from the sink basin using the grab tab.
- Twist the basket (quarter turn) to unlock and remove it from the filter base.
- Slide out the flow diverter.
Note: Reverse steps to reassemble the Sprout cartridge.
Is my Sprout dishwasher safe?
Yes. All components of the cartridge - The basket, flow diverter and filter base may be washed in the dishwasher. Store small components safely in the upper tray or basket where they will be secure during the washing process.
What is the maximum water temperature my Sprout can handle?
Sprout can handle water temperatures up to 212⁰ Fahrenheit.
Troubleshooting
How do I unclog my sink?
- Remove and clean your Sprout cartridge.
- Remove any solids collected at the bottom of the Sprout basin after the cartridge has been removed.
- If there are no solids collected at the bottom of the Sprout basin after the cartridge has been removed, typical troubleshooting and plumbing practices should be used. Use your internet browser to search for ‘unclogging a kitchen sink’ solutions.
What if my Sprout has not been used for several weeks/months?
Please see the Care & Maintenance section for how to clean/sanitize your Sprout cartridge.

What type of warranty does my Sprout come with?
Your Sprout was designed, built, and assembled in the USA of high quality components, and is backed by real people who care at our Shawnee, KS headquarters. All proprietary Sprout components come with either a two year or a lifetime warranty. Please follow this link to view the full Sprout warranty.
What is not covered under my Sprout warranty?
Traditional ‘plumbing parts’, which include the tailpiece, dishwasher tailpiece, nuts and rubber gaskets are not covered under the Sprout warranty.
How do I submit a warranty claim on my Sprout?

Returns
What is the return policy on my Sprout?
- Online orders placed on SproutKitchen.com may be returned within 90-days of the original purchase date for a full refund or exchange.
